Our saxophone instructors are warm and friendly, and get to know each student and parent on a personal level. We work with you to craft a lesson plan that fits your individual needs and the student’s favourite type of music. Whether you’re playing in local bands, a seven year old taking their first lesson, or a fifty year old returning to the saxophone after many years, we’ll set goals to achieve your musical aspirations.

What styles of Saxophone do you teach?

We teach all styles, from rock, pop and jazz to country, blues and classical. Our

lessons are all one-on-one, and targeted towards what you want to learn!

How qualified are your instructors?

Here at TKAM, we only hire the best saxophone instructors! Our instructors all

have formal music education, and lessons are rooted in proper technique and theory. 

What will I learn from Saxophone lessons at The Kitchener Academy of Music?

Our students spend time each week working on technical skills to improve their sound

quality and intonation, but also have their favourite songs incorporated into the lessons so they finish with their favourite piece. Our sax teachers, through their care and expertise, will certainly nurture any student’s love of the saxophone.

Do I need to know how to read music?

Not at all! Beginners are welcome, and your teachers will teach you everything you need to know in your lessons.

 

Do I need a Saxophone to learn the instrument?

You will need a saxophone in order to learn the instrument. Please contact us at tkaminfo@gmail.com to discuss rental options, or for retail recommendations!

 

How much do lessons cost?

$120/month for weekly 30 minute private lessons, with a one-time $25 registration fee. Longer lessons are available upon request, contact us at TKAMinfo@gmail.com for more information on extended lessons.
