Our viola instructors are warm and friendly, and get to know each student and parent on a personal level. We work with you to craft a lesson plan that fits your individual needs and the student’s favourite type of music. Whether you’re playing in local bands, a seven year old taking their first lesson, or a fifty year old returning to the viola after many years, we’ll set goals to achieve your musical aspirations.

What styles of Viola do you teach?

We teach all styles, from rock, pop and jazz to country, blues and classical. Our lessons

are all one-on-one, and targeted towards what you want to learn!

How qualified are your instructors?

Here at TKAM, we only hire the best viola instructors! Our instructors all have formal

music education, and lessons are rooted in proper technique and theory.

What will I learn from Viola lessons at The Kitchener Academy of Music?

Our students spend time each week working on technical skills to improve their sound

quality and intonation, but also have their favourite songs incorporated into the lessons so

they finish with their favourite piece. Our viola teachers, through their care and expertise, will certainly nurture any student’s love of the viola.

Do I need to know how to read music?

Not at all! Beginners are welcome, and your teachers will teach you everything you need to know in your lessons.

 

Do I need a Viola to learn the instrument?

How much do lessons cost?

$120/month for weekly 30 minute private lessons, with a one-time $25 registration fee. Longer lessons are available upon request, contact us at TKAMinfo@gmail.com for more information on extended lessons.
