Important PSA about Covid-19: We Are In This Together
The Kitchener Academy of Music is open! We are currently offering online and in person lessons. COVID-19 is still a very serious issue, and the safety and wellbeing of our students and teachers remains the top priority. CLICK HERE to view the precautions we are taking to ensure everyone's safety.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and listen to the recommendations of experts, including guidance from the World Health Organization, and our federal and provincial governments.
We are still offering virtual classes to those who prefer to learn from home at this time.
We want to extend our gratitude to all of the new and existing students, parents, and teachers for your continued support, because without any of you, we would not have The Kitchener Academy of Music. This has been a tough few months but we will get through this together! #StrongerTogether

The Kitchener Academy of Music is owned and directed by Kandice Kreutner who has been a music teacher for more than 35 years. Kandice is dedicated to making TKAM the most fun place on earth to take music lessons. She believes that creative & practical lessons are the way to instil the joy and love of music in the hearts of students. Her mission is to inspire the entire community to enjoy music together.
Kandice is joined by many like-minded teachers who excel not only with their instruments but also in sharing their passion through teaching. Each teacher has a University education and has been privately taught and mentored for many years.
Recently we have implemented our virtual music lessons for everything listed above. These have been so well received that we have continued these offerings, even after our brick and mortar location reopened, to international students, students living abroad for school or work, as an alternative to missed lessons due to illness or inclement weather, or for students who just prefer to learn from the comfort of their own home!
The Kitchener Academy of Music offers lessons on a month-to-month basis, 12 months a year, 7 days a week.

This saves our students time and money, as one family can take multiple instruments on the same day. Other studios offer multiple instruments, but we are the only one to offer these instruments in a high-quality, convenient environment. We welcome all beginners and all levels--no matter what your age!
2. The most qualified teaching faculty in the area!
We've handpicked our teachers so your student can have the best music lesson experience possible. All of our teachers have advanced music education from accredited universities, extensive teaching experience, and a fun, motivating personality that you're sure to love! No matter what your musical goals are, we want to help you reach them! Our goal is to inspire your student--and that is the best teaching method of all!
3. Did you know that while studying an instrument, your child can be earning High School credits?
Our teachers are certified to prepare students for The Royal Conservatory and Conservatory Canada official exams. With these practical and theory credentials, students may acquire High school credits BEFORE they are even in high school!
4. The widest range of lesson times available, sure to fit any busy schedule!
We offer classes from 10am to 9pm every day! We're currently only offering online lessons, but will begin offering in-person lessons as soon as we can!
5. Free performance opportunities!
You just want to know how your child is doing in lessons and if they are really progressing. The best way to understand if the investment is worth it is to have your child participate in our free recitals. We hold our recitals locally, so you don't have to travel to get a great experience. Unlike most schools, you will never have to pay admission or other fees to participate in our recitals.
6. Conveniently located!
We are conveniently located, just off of Conestoga Pkwy in Kitchener. We have students that come from Kitchener, Ayr, Waterloo, Doon, Cambridge, New Hamburg, Baden, St. Jacob's, Guelph, Stratford, St. Agatha, Elmira, Conestoga, and Woodstock.
7. Picture Day
We want you to be able to celebrate your music and share that memory through pictures, which is why we offer a free picture day to our students. Students are able to come and get their picture taken by a professional photographer and can bring their instrument and wear whatever they want. Make a memory with our picture day! Picture Day photos make great Christmas cards!
9. Early morning and lunchtime lessons
We are able to be a full-service music school and can offer lessons starting as early as 10:00am and we see many students over the lunch hours. If you are a homeschooler, a retiree, a college student, or a working professional, take advantage of these great times.
10. Month-to-month lessons!
