Kandice is an extremely talented, kind and enthusiastic professional. She is very caring and specializes in ensuring that lessons are specifically tailored to fit each individual student’s needs. She works with, and employs, other musicians that also help to create a nurturing and positive environment. I am so happy that everyone at The Kitchener Academy of Music is sharing their passion and love for music with my daughter!!

Our three sons have all love the music lessons at The Kitchener Academy of Music. They all started with no musical background and not able to read notes you would never know this now. Kandice keeps the learning fun and engaging so they actually want to go.
The children really like Jack he is very patient and encouraging. Even if something has to be repeated over and over he does not get mad.

John has a way of teaching where different types of styles can be combined for a more creative out come. Our son was so excited to be able to learn to compose his own songs. They all get such a feeling of accomplishment from the lessons.

I have been an adult student of Kandice's for a number of years. As an adult with no music background it is a challenge to embark on music education. Kandice is always encouraging and patient. I'm not sure how she has such patience listening to my pieces slowly move along. She always wants to make sure that I am learning what I want to learn and tailors my lessons to meet that goal.

My 6 year old daughter has recently started piano lessons with Kandice. She is an extremely shy and also anxious child, but feels very comfortable coming for her lessons. Kandice has made it a very comfortable environment, is very kind and patient and also makes things fun! My daughter is excited to come to her lessons and she has been practicing diligently as there is a great (and fun) reward system in place to encourage her to practice. Kandice has a wonderful passion for music and it is extremely evident in her teaching!

Glad to see that practice charts are still all the rage. I use them with my own students now, and lots of other teaching tips I picked up from you along the way.

What I value most of all from my years of lessons with Kandice was how she noticed and nurtured my budding interest in writing music. Not only did she provide me with a solid grounding in piano technique and repertoire but a lifelong passion for making music. Her ability to sincerely connect with her students, recognize their unique talent and help them tod develop and cherish it is truly special.
