Neighbour's Day Outdoor Concert!

On June 18th we hosted Music In The Park(Ing Lot) as part of the City of Kitchener's "Neighbour's Day."

It was a warm, windy day full of events around Kitchener - and the TKAM parking lot was full of students, parents, and community members!

Drums & Percussion Workshop

Our drum teachers Ryan & Max kicked off the afternoon with group drumming and percussion playing. They even set up an entire marimba for their students to try!

Both Ryan and Max got Music In The Park(Ing) Lot going with inspiring performances on the marimba.

Student Performances

The afternoon then continued with a set of amazing performances from our students. Our set list included vocal, guitar, piano, violin, and drum-kit students. We even had a lovely mother-daughter duet!

Other highlights included Canon in D played on violin:

Sam playing Sunday Bloody Sunday on the drum-kit:

And possibly the best dressed student of the day:

The TKAM Teachers Performed, too!

Not only did our teachers help organize and set-up this event, but many of them performed too!

Kyla & her fellow performer, Sydney, sang BEAUTIFUL harmonies together. For their final song, they performed a rousing rendition of Piano Man - getting the crowd to sing along!

Our teacher Josh got the crowd clapping and on their feet with his entertainment skills and bright personality.

When not literally holding down the fort on this windy day, our piano teacher Jack played quite a mix of pieces. While starting out with two slow lyrical pieces, Jack quickly took on the request of We Don't Talk About Bruno.

Then Ellie got the crowd moving with some ukulele performances, and Cassie & Sid ended the afternoon of music with solo performances, as well as a duet from the musical, Wicked.

A Million Thank You's

Thank you to our students for making this day possible. You are actively bringing music back to our community with your performances and music learning!

We cannot wait for your Winter Concert performances later this year.

And thank you to the City of Kitchener for supporting our event and creating a wonderful day for our community!
